We Want Electric Cars

Here is a video of the GM EV1 revived by someone.  It was an amazing step forward at the time (1996) and by now (12 years later) America could have taken the electric car technology so much further.  Instead GM was pressured into crushing just about all of them.  Since by law people are not allowed to put the original batteries in them GM could make them take the batteries out.  However, I think that would probably give them negative publicity.
